Great with friends kids, other dogs, but also protective. I was worried because I have a 3 year old male (dobbie) But they get a long great. I did have to get a harness (made by the same company who does the gentle leader) I got the one that loops around his front legs (because he pulls, and is very very strong for 3 months old!) IF you get a plott it is very important to socialize your puppy with other dogs and people. I have a Plott Hound and he is the best dog! Great with friends kids, other dogs, but also protective.

Monday did not walk away empty handed by any means. He received Best of Breed, which means he is the numero "UNO" Plott. Also, Amanda Alexander from PA, who owns and handles Monday, came away with the #2 Plott Sissy. She received BOB Opposite Sex. Plotts are very competitive and so are their owners. Watch out for them at Westminster.
