2008 AMPC People's Choice Voting Now Live

The selected images from the 2008 Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition are on the walls of the Mezzanine Gallery of the Turchin Center of the Visual Arts. The public will get their first peak of this year’s exhibition on Friday, March 7 from 7 to 9pm and public voting for the Footsloggers People’s Choice Award kicks off with the public reception. A voting kiosk is located in the Mezzanine Gallery of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts and votes can be cast via the web beginning at 7pm on Friday, March 7.

Final judging for this year’s Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition will take place in late March and awards will be publicly announced on April 14. A winning image will be selected from each of the seven categories, one image will be selected as People’s Choice and one image will be chosen as Best In Show.

Thank you to all the photographers who submitted images to this year’s competition. A portion of your entry fee goes to support Outdoor Programs Student Outdoor Learning Expeditions (SOLE) at Appalachian State University. SOLE trips are 21 to 55-day, active educational adventures of discovery that immerse ASU students in unique and rugged landscapes.
